This is a remarkable black Chinoiserie lacquered serpentine commode. The top is exquisitely hand-painted with Chinoiserie landscapes and floral details. It features a cast brass floral decorated edge and two finely cast brass molding paneled doors. The interior is burgundy with one long adjustable shelf. The scroll-uprights have bold Rococo cast brass mounts and splayed feet centered by an undulating and Rocaille brass mounted apron.
