Inspired by an original of the early 18th century designed by Jean Francois Oeben.
The lockable sliding top panel reveals a hidden hinged panel to support a book or mirror and a number of hidden drawers. Detailed cast brass appliques to the cabriole legs and lions paw sabots. The original probably made for the French royal household.
